My Learnings from Seminar/webinar at ISB, Hyderabad.

Today i had attended webinar from ISB on "Navigating your career in times of crisis" by Prof. Chandrasekhar Sripada

Sir quoted below book as good read:
"Working Identity: Unconventional Strategies for Reinventing Your Career"
by Herminia Ibarra  (Author)

The current impact is that in 6 to 9 months, cash flows drying up, job cuts, going to be high but India and China may be least effected.

Areas which will be stable:
Grocery or ecommerce
Netflix
Education and skilling
Sports and Wellbeing
banking sector
HealthCare
Robotic cleaner, electronics
To support all this, software would grow. Zoom, ML would grow

downturn/crisis happened in 2002 and 2008, what is new is 2020 covid-19 crisis, the Lesson learnt is "No one is safe, until everyone is safe".

Crisis is time for innovation, enterprenuer use this opportunity to innvote. In this difficult times, think on what are your dream job, what are skills you have to achievement
More than ever before business skills in stratagy, finance, marketting are in hig demand, this is helpful to protect cashflow.

Indecision brings its own delays, change of industry is best decision one can take compared to taking appreciation in current industry.

A future manager would be like T, greater depth in one area(specialist) and generalist in broader areas / all areas.
